Sativa or Indica?
Cannabis is a diverse plant. What we know about it barely scratches the surface of what we have to learn. One thing we do know is that each strain of cannabis can affect you differently.
Do you enjoy the uplifting and energizing rush of a Sativa? Sativas generally create bursts of energy, happy thoughts, bouts of laughter and increased creativity. Sativas are a great way to start your day, many referring to these strains as great for a “wake n’ bake”. While most sativas tend to affect your mind more than your body, they can offer a wide range of effects helpful in fighting pain, fatigue and depression.
Perhaps you lean more towards the relaxing, warm wave of an Indica. Indicas are typically much more relaxing than sativas. They can cause sleepy, heavy eyes and heavy, relaxed muscles. These strains are generally used to fight chronic pain, anxiety, nausea and insomnia.
Sitting comfortably in the middle is the hybrid strains. Most strains you find today are going to be a hybrid of a sativa and an indica. Some lean more towards one than the other and some are wonderfully balanced, offering the best effects from both sides of the spectrum.
Don’t let the labeling fool you, though, as strains affect each and every one of us differently, and both sativas and indicas can be used to treat a variety of symptoms.
