Pro Tips: How to Resuscitate Wet Weed

It’s summertime! For many people that means spending time at, on and near the water. Whether you’re rafting, swimming, surfing, canoeing, fishing, boating or just sunbathing next to a pool, when you’re near water, there’s a chance you could end up with wet weed. If you’ve been the victim of some misfortunate mishap that dunked your stash, don’t panic! If you take care to dry it thoroughly, you can revive wet cannabis.

Method One: Paper

Carefully separate any damp buds that have clumped together and place wet cannabis in a brown paper bag or between paper towels.

Place the bag or paper towels in a cool, dark, ventilated place. Use a fan and/or dehumidifier to increase indirect airflow and reduce humidity when possible.

Check your cannabis few hours, separating bud when necessary and turning it over so that both sides can dry. Carefully check for mold!

Method Two: Rice

Fill the bottom of a glass jar or container with dry rice.

Place your wet cannabis on top of the first layer of rice, cover with the remaining rice.

Leave uncovered overnight.

Remove the cannabis from the rice; be sure to inspect for mold!

Place the cannabis between two paper towels to remove any residual moisture. Turn every hour until completely dry.

Drying cannabis properly can take a couple of days depending on the amount of cannabis you’re drying.

DO NOT RUSH IT.

You may be tempted to use heat or light to help expedite the drying process but you’ll damage all the delicate terpenes and cannabinoids if you do, reducing potency and flavor!
