HIGH ART 2020 SPOTLIGHT: MICKI DIAZ
Micki Diaz is a recent art school grad from Sarasota, raised in Miami, who is currently living in NYC. Micki aims to make work that is loud, whimsical, and familiar. In ‘The Magician’, he created a new image for the Magician Tarot card using both the icons associated with the card as well as icons associated with entertainment type magicians. As a little kid, he loved magicians and as he grew older, he fell in love with Tarot. This piece is the center of that love. He wanted this piece to feel alive in order to captivate the audience’s attention and he wanted it to feel like an entire world you could observe with details in every corner, this piece is the ultimate homage to trick magicians and Tarot lovers and definitely embodies the theme of magic.

High Art was created by Dona Frank and The Natural Cannabis Company in 2014 as a crowdsourcing solution to packaging design. From its humble beginnings, High Art has developed into an internationally-known art competition with thousands of entries annually from 100+ countries all over the world.
Each year professional and amateur artists create themed works through a variety of mediums to compete for $50,000 in prize money and to see their work featured on packaging, social media, at the High Art gallery in Santa Rosa, CA and displayed at prestigious art events, in the United States and abroad.
