HIGH ART 2020 SPOTLIGHT: LOREDANA CODAU

HIGH ART 2020 SPOTLIGHT: LOREDANA CODAU

“Granddaddy Purple”

“I tried to imagine how Granddaddy Purple’s portrait would look like, and I saw it as an exotic beauty. Photo compositing in Adobe Photoshop.”

Even though Loredana Codau (@loredana.codau.design) didn’t start as a graphic designer, but as an art historian, she always knew how important is to manage creating a content that transmits a specific message, a story, a feeling to the viewer. Art history helped her a lot in understanding that every visual product had a context, a purpose and a meaning behind, all of these elements being highlighted through the different styles and chromatic used. In the same time, being in an art related discipline, it fueled her creativity and her outside the box thinking. Graphic design stands in great lines for the same principles with which she is so familiarized. Thus, she loves to create graphic, photo composites and motion design in Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator.

She entered “Granddaddy Purple” during High Art 2020.

High Art was created by Dona Frank and The Natural Cannabis Company in 2014 as a crowdsourcing solution to packaging design. From its humble beginnings, High Art has developed into an internationally-known art competition with thousands of entries annually from 100+ countries all over the world.

Each year professional and amateur artists create themed works through a variety of mediums to compete for $50,000 in prize money and to see their work featured on packaging, social media, at the High Art gallery in Santa Rosa, CA and displayed at prestigious art events, in the United States and abroad.
