“Awaken”

Grigoria Vryttia (born 1983, Athens Greece) is a contemporary art-practitioner and designer, currently located in Athens, Greece. Her work includes various practices with main media eco-friendly materials, such as fabrics, re-purposed paper and the human body. Her work is deeply ecological and anti-consumerist. In addition to her official art and practice, she designs and makes bags and costumes for the theatre and the cinema, illustrates books and designs covers for local zines and small experimental music labels. During the last year and a half, and after a strong and dangerous experience concerning her health, she developed a persona that appears with the stage name Frida Kavlo, and takes part as a quasi-poet and a performer to activist for LGBTQI and women’s rights burlesque shows.

She entered “Awaken” during High Art 2020.


High Art was created by Dona Frank and The Natural Cannabis Company in 2014 as a crowdsourcing solution to packaging design. From its humble beginnings, High Art has developed into an internationally-known art competition with thousands of entries annually from 100+ countries all over the world.

Each year professional and amateur artists create themed works through a variety of mediums to compete for $50,000 in prize money and to see their work featured on packaging, social media, at the High Art gallery in Santa Rosa, CA and displayed at prestigious art events, in the United States and abroad.
