“The Gaze of Medusa”
Laura Moretti is an Italian illustrator from Rome. She earned her BFA from the European Institute of Design (IED) in 2015 and in 2018 her MFA at the Academy of Arts University in San Francisco. Her main focus is advertising and editorial illustration. In her works, she often and gladly portrays people. Her goal above all is to capture an emotion, a state of mind or a story, maintaining spontaneity through fast strokes and putting on canvas all the colors she perceives. What characterizes her works are a strong use of abstract backgrounds that sometimes include the presence of textures and multiple shades. The final effect always wants to be impactful, without dwelling too much on being precise and meticulous.
She entered “The Gaze of Medusa” during High Art 2020.
