6TH PLACE WINNER – HIGH ART 2020 – JOTHAM GUINTOS
“The Offer”
Jotham Guintos aka Jokiargu is a Filipino graphic artist based in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia who has been heading a design team of carpet designers in one of Saudi’s leading carpet factories since 2001. He graduated Fine Arts, majored in Advertising and Commercial Art in his hometown, Bacolod City Philippines. In 2015, he rekindled his love for traditional and digital drawing, went on a full social media swing in 2017 and onwards. His digital as well as traditional art is often dark with Baroque and Victorian inspired themes, a dose of everyday elements, and portions of social-activism to pop-surrealism and fantasy themes.
In this piece, an elven shaman sits upon a fertile cannabis flower. He is adorned with magical snails adding an extra bump to his already glowing aura. He appears to be offering a joint of cannabis to any deserving passers-by while a naughty band of pixies swarm around and about him, expecting a piece of what he offers .

High Art was created by Dona Frank and The Natural Cannabis Company in 2014 as a crowdsourcing solution to packaging design. From its humble beginnings, High Art has developed into an internationally-known art competition with thousands of entries annually from 100+ countries all over the world.
Each year professional and amateur artists create themed works through a variety of mediums to compete for $50,000 in prize money and to see their work featured on packaging, social media, at the High Art gallery in Santa Rosa, CA and displayed at prestigious art events, in the United States and abroad.
